Our heart beats for organic
Our common path into the future
Since our foundation in 1985, sustainability has been firmly anchored in our actions. What once began with the vision of focusing on organic products has developed into a comprehensive commitment to a sustainable future. We now not only work in a climate-friendly way at our site, but also work towards a sustainable future on a daily basis – ecologically, economically and socially.
Stephanie Moßbacher, Managing Director & Founder’s Daughter, promises:
“Together with the Byodo team, I want to inspire even more people to adopt a sustainable and enjoyable lifestyle – and thus make a positive contribution to a more sustainable world.”
What is organic?
Organic is a special form of food production. The EU Organic Regulation defines the legal requirements for the production and processing of organic food. In organic farming, for example, no synthetic chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used and genetic engineering is avoided. Instead, natural methods such as crop rotation and composting are used to protect plants and animals and thus produce healthy and tasty food. The video by the AöL (Association of Organic Food Producers) explains in more detail what “organic” means in relation to food.
But why is organic sustainable?
Organic food is sustainable for several reasons:
Ecological advantages:
- Soil fertility*: Organic farming maintains the health of the soil, resulting in fertile fields.
- Biodiversity*: The cultivation of different plants promotes natural ecosystems, which protects biodiversity.
Economic advantages:
- Supporting the local economy: Organic producers also support the local economy by creating jobs and buying locally. When constructing our company building, we also paid attention to regionality, so that 95% of the companies were less than 30 kilometers away.
- Fair trade: Organic products come from farmers who are paid fairly for their work, which contributes to better living conditions. At Byodo, we are actively committed to fair partnerships and our Code of Conduct ensures that our supply chain meets ethical and social standards.
Social benefits:
- Fewer pesticides: Organic food is grown free of synthetic pesticides, as stipulated by the EU Organic Farming Regulation. This means demonstrably fewer chemical residues in the products – good for nature and your health**.
- Social responsibility: Many organic producers are involved in social projects that benefit their community. At Byodo, we are committed to promoting healthy nutrition for children by donating food and supporting BIObegeistert.

Why organic counts
Organic is much more than just a label – it describes a holistic approach that harmonizes people, the environment and the economy. Are you wondering why organic products are so special? It’s simple: they are created in a process that not only benefits nature, but also society and the economy. With every purchase, you support fair conditions for farmers, the protection of our resources and the preservation of biodiversity. Organic is therefore a decision that goes far beyond shopping – it is a contribution to a future that is in harmony with our environment.

At Byodo, we shape sustainability not only through our 100% organic products from organic farming, but also through our four main pillars: Working sustainably, promoting sustainable partnerships, sustainable packaging and social commitment. Discover nowYou can rely on these organic seals
Organic seals give you the assurance that you are holding high-quality and sustainable products in your hands. They guarantee that the food comes from controlled organic cultivation and meets strict guidelines regarding environmental and animal protection as well as cultivation and processing. There are various seals for organic companies in the food sector. All Byodo products bear the EU organic logo and naturally meet the requirements of the EU Organic Regulation. In addition, our organic products also bear the hexagonal German organic sealwhich voluntarily alongside the mandatory EU organic logo – both seals meet the same high standards. Furthermore, some Byodo products carry the
Bioland seal, an association seal that follows even stricter guidelines. With these seals, you can be sure that you can rely on food of the highest quality.
When shopping, you should look out for the organic seal and the organic inspection body number – they are a guarantee that the product has been produced in accordance with strict organic guidelines.

Curious about sustainability? Here we answer your questions!
A company is considered climate-neutral if it completely offsets its CO2 emissions. This is done by reducing its own emissions and, if necessary, by investing in certified offsetting projects that compensate for the remaining CO2 emissions. Even if the term “climate neutral” is not legally protected, we at Byodo are committed to sustainable measures and CO2 compensation in order to reduce our CO2 footprint to zero and to be able to work climate neutrally by 2028.
Scopes are a standardized measurement method for determining a company’s CO2 emissions. Scope 1 comprises direct greenhouse gas emissions caused by stationary and mobile fossil fuels, process emissions and volatilization of coolants and refrigerants, such as from company vehicles. Scope 2 comprises indirect emissions, such as from purchased electricity or heat. Scope 3 refers to all other indirect emissions along the value chain, for example from the extraction of raw materials, purchased goods or the use of the products sold.
The ecological footprint measures how many natural resources a person, a company or an activity consumes in order to maintain the lifestyle or operation. It takes into account areas for food, energy, water and CO2 emissions.
As a company, we take responsibility and actively work to reduce our carbon footprint. You can make a difference too: With the WWF CO₂ calculator you can calculate your own carbon footprint and find out how many greenhouse gases are caused by your activities. Incidentally, the average CO₂ footprint of a person in Germany is around 10.8 tons per year. This gives you an overview and allows you to take targeted measures to make your own contribution to climate protection.
You can contribute to this by consuming more consciously, buying locally and seasonally, disposing of packaging correctly, reducing your energy consumption and using sustainable means of transportation. A high proportion of plant-based and organic food also contributes to a sustainable diet.
