Mühldorf, April 2024: The new Mild Olive in a 5 l canister meets the tastes of restaurateurs and guests alike. It can be used in a variety of ways for salads and cold antipasti as well as for marinating and roasting.

 

The Mild Olive from the Byodo CateringLine is a harmonious oil composition of extra virgin olive oil (51%) and the finest “high-oleic” sunflower oil (49%) in the usual 100% organic quality. The mild taste appeals to the palates of many guests on the German market who appreciate a subtle olive note. Byodo develops the first creamy organic pesto on the market

Sophisticated recipe for maximum enjoyment

 

Mühldorf, January 2024: Now it’s getting creamy! Byodo Naturkost is revamping its organic pesto range and launching three new varieties: Pesto alla Genovese, Pesto Calabrese and Pesto Rosso. What they all have in common is their unique creaminess, the sophisticated recipe and, of course, the 100% organic ingredients.

Byodo Naturkost, a pioneer in organic enjoyment, is launching the first creamy organic pestos on the market with these new products. This reaffirms the company’s position as a driver of innovation in the organic sector.

 

The creamy Pesto alla Genovese has an intense, aromatic basil flavor, while the Pesto Calabrese with sun-ripened peppers and chilli peppers is a fruity, spicy delight. The vegan Pesto Rosso unfolds the hearty, fruity taste of sun-kissed tomatoes. The creamy recipe made from 100% organic ingredients of agricultural origin is unique on the organic market to date. Because there were a few challenges to overcome on the way there.

 

The recipe for many conventional pestos contains various additives that ensure shelf life, stability, consistency, an appealing appearance and improved taste. Byodo now achieves all this almost without additives – because the organic company avoids them as far as possible out of conviction. Of the only four additives that Byodo allows in its product range, only organic lemon juice concentrate is used in the pesto for a longer shelf life.

 

In addition, the oil in pesto often settles after a while and floats to the top. Byodo pestos do not have this unpleasant habit because they contain faba bean protein, which acts as a natural emulsifier. This ensures that the oil does not separate from the other ingredients and that the pesto remains homogeneous and creamy. Guar gum from certified organic farming is also used as a natural thickener to give Byodo pestos their creamy consistency.

 

Artificial preservatives are usually used in conventional pesto to extend its shelf life – Byodo Naturkost does not use them at all. The creamy organic pestos preserve carrot and lemon juice concentrate from controlled organic cultivation. The oil contained in the sophisticated recipes also contributes naturally to preservation.

The new protein crispbread consists of a fine mixture of pea, lentil and chickpea flour of the highest organic quality. These ingredients are used to bake extra fluffy and particularly crispy slices, which are seasoned with just a pinch of sea salt. First organic sea salt in 100% paper packaging

 

Mühldorf, January 2024: Organic pioneer Byodo Naturkost has completely optimized its salt products – the family business is now offering the first and so far only organic sea salt in 100% paper packaging.

The pioneer of organic enjoyment relies on Spanish salt marshes nestled in natural parks for its organic sea salt. The remote salt pans provide natural pre-treatment of the seawater. The water evaporates through the sun and wind alone, leaving behind the organic sea salt – produced with minimal energy input and therefore a very small ecological footprint. These salt pans also form an important ecosystem for birds and numerous other animal species.

 

In addition to its environmentally friendly extraction, the “white gold” in organic quality has other positive properties: it is unrefined, uniodized and contains no separating agents or anti-caking agents, but instead contains valuable minerals and trace elements.

 

The organic sea salt from Byodo Naturkost is available as a coarse-grained variant in a 500 g bag and fine in 500 g and 1000 g bags. The new packaging is made from 100% PEFC-certified paper and is therefore fully recyclable via waste paper.

 

The PEFC seal on the packaging means that the raw material for the paper comes from forestry that is proven to be ecologically, economically and socially sustainable. The PEFC institution is “the world’s largest independent certification system” for sustainably managed forests and describes itself as a “forest MOT”.

Mühldorf, January 2024: Byodo Naturkost is offering a new, additional packaging solution for three of its CateringLine oils: The practical Bag-in-Box (BIB). It saves time and space in the kitchen and is easy to use.

 

Byodos CateringLine oils Frying Oil Classic 10 L, Rapeseed Oil Extra Mild 10 L and the new Frying Oil 15 L will be available in the bag-in-box in future. This packaging is particularly impressive in the kitchen due to its practical and convenient storage, as the boxes can be stacked to save space. Byodo Naturkost pays particular attention to the tear resistance of the carton. In addition, the multi-component packaging can be recycled easily and in an environmentally friendly way.

 

But that’s not all, the BIB also has a number of other advantages: Gone are the days of having to buy additional pouring spouts for canisters, the Byodo BIB is already equipped with a practical pouring spout. Attention was paid to an appropriate flow rate combined with easy dosing and drip protection.

 

If the oil is not consumed all at once, the bag offers good oxygen protection as no air flows in, as is the case with canisters, for example. It can also be emptied completely, leaving no residue behind. Less packaging waste is produced during disposal, which is also easier to dispose of.

The pioneer of organic enjoyment has thought the product through to the smallest detail. From the ingredients to the handling, the new frying oil is perfectly tailored to the needs of commercial kitchens and restaurants.

 

The unique, palm oil-free composition of high-oleic and linoleic sunflower seeds in 100 % top organic quality guarantees perfect frying results. A highly heatable oil can already be extracted from the high-oleic kernels. In addition, the Byo-Protect process ensures optimum heat stability. In this 3-stage process, heat-sensitive plant substances are gently removed from the oil in a way that is particularly gentle on the nutrients. The frying oil also impresses with its frying stability. It is odorless and tasteless and does not develop any off-odors on its own.

Byodo Squeeze bottles now made from 50% recycled PET

 

Mühldorf, January 2024: The practical PET squeeze bottles from Byodo Naturkost are becoming more sustainable: the organic company is switching to 50% recycled PET (rPET) for the packaging material. This saves energy, emissions and resources.

Byodo ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard can be portioned particularly well with the PET squeeze bottle. The pioneer of organic enjoyment has now optimized the packaging in terms of sustainability. From now on, the five Byodo Squeeze products – Tomato and Kids Ketchup, Grill & Burger Sauce, Delikatess Mayonnaise and Medium-Hot Mustard – will be filled in Squeeze bottles made from 50% recycled PET.

 

rPET is more sustainable than primary, i.e. newly produced PET, in several respects. The production of packaging made from rPET consumes significantly less energy and therefore causes fewer emissions than the production of new PET. As rPET is made from existing material, it also saves valuable resources. And it can theoretically be recycled an infinite number of times.

 

The recycled material for Byodo’s new rPET bottles comes from post-consumer material – this means that a squeeze bottle that has been correctly disposed of in the Yellow Bag or Yellow Bin can be turned into a new one. The disposed PET bottles are shredded and cleaned into flakes by specially certified recyclers. These flakes are then melted down and processed into granulate, from which new bottle blanks are produced. To support the recycling process, the white cap should be unscrewed and disposed of separately from the transparent bottle.

Mühldorf, summer 2023: Byodo Naturkost opens the 5th chapter in its frying oil success story: With Brat-Olive Mild, the pioneer of organic enjoyment and market leader in the segment is launching a new organic frying oil with a subtle olive note.

The best-selling organic product in the dry range* – the Mediterranean roast olive – is getting a boost: the new Mild roast olive is a unique oil composition made from extra virgin olive oil and the finest “high-oleic” sunflower oil in the usual top organic quality. The result is a highly heatable frying oil with a subtle olive note that emphasizes the taste of the prepared food.

 

Like all other Byodo frying oils, the new Frying Olive Mild is also filtered using the Byo-Protect process. In three steps, the heat-sensitive plant substances are removed from the oils, which could otherwise have a negative effect on the taste or form substances that are harmful to health.

 

First, the oil is filtered gently and purely mechanically. Natural clay minerals then bind other plant substances. Finally, gently applied steam “blows” the last fine particles out of the oil.

 

In addition, the sunflower content in the Roasted Olive Mild comes from “high oleic” seeds. These have a high oleic acid content, which makes the organic oil highly heatable by nature.

Mühldorf, summer 2022: Byodo Naturkost is expanding its gluten-free organic pasta range. This means that pasta fans with gluten intolerance can also enjoy Italian pasta that tastes confusingly similar to the original.

Authentic “al dente” enjoyment even without gluten – that is the claim of Byodo Naturkost, pasta expert and pioneer of organic enjoyment from Mühldorf. The popular gluten-free lasagne sheets made from 100% organic corn and rice flour will therefore be joined this fall by two new pasta shapes: Casarecce and Sedani. They are in no way inferior to pasta made from durum wheat semolina and can therefore be easily substituted in tried and tested recipes.

 

Casarecce means “home-made” and their slightly twisted shape is somewhat reminiscent of small scrolls. The Sedani shape originates from Naples, where the short tubular pasta is also known as “ivory pasta” due to its curved shape.

 

The corn and rice lasagne has been available in a sustainable carton right from the start and the two new gluten-free pasta varieties from Byodo are also packaged in paper. Mühldorf, summer 2022: Byodo Naturkost is making its mark as a pioneer of organic enjoyment this fall with three varieties of protein-rich legume pasta. What’s more, the new products are gluten-free, vegan and sustainably packaged in paper.

The gluten-free organic Volanti with red lentils have been impressing consumers with the characteristic taste of the protein-rich pulses for four years now. From fall 2022, two new pasta shapes will be added to the range: cellentani made from green peas and spirelli made from chickpeas. Both contain only 100% organic ingredients from Italy.

 

The funny shape of the cellentani is thanks to a crooked pasta press. It was named after a popular singer in the 70s. With flour made from organic green peas, the pasta shape is experiencing a delicious renaissance, tasting fresh and slightly sweet.

 

Spirelli are a Neapolitan specialty. The protein- and fiber-rich cherry pea flour makes them a nutty, roasted taste experience.

 

Pasta made from pulses only needs a few minutes in hot water to cook. A large pot and caution are also required, as it foams up during cooking. Hot or cold, the protein-rich power pasta is a great addition to colorful bowls, salads and pasta dishes. It is naturally gluten-free and vegan.

 

The two new pasta varieties and the Volanti red lentil also come in paper packaging that is certified with the “FSC Mix” label and promotes responsible forest management. The packaging can and should be disposed of in the blue garbage can for waste paper, so it can be 100% recycled.

Mühldorf, summer 2022: Organic pioneer and rice wafer expert Byodo Naturkost is launching two new varieties of puffed wafers in late summer: chickpea wafers with dark and milk chocolate. The crispy slices in 100% organic quality impress with their nutty taste and an extra portion of protein and fiber.

 

Puffed rice cakes are one of the first products from Byodo Naturkost in Mühldorf. First introduced in 1988, the crispy slices are still an absolute customer favorite today. Now a breath of fresh air is coming to the waffle range: puffed chickpea waffles with a chocolate coating continue the 30-year success story.

 

With around 20 g of protein and 12 g of fiber per 100 g of dried chickpeas, these pulses are real powerhouses. They also contain a variety of valuable minerals that are retained even after puffing.

 

Chocolate lovers will get their money’s worth with the organic company’s new power snack – a whopping 50% chocolate covers the crispy, puffed-up slices. With the dark chocolate variant, Byodo also offers a vegan version of the crispy snack. 100% enjoyment in 100% recyclable packaging

 

Mühldorf, summer 2022: Byodo Naturkost GmbH from Mühldorf is switching the packaging of its Italian pasta range to paper over the course of the summer. The company is thus not only meeting its customers’ demands for perfect enjoyment and top organic quality, but also for sustainable packaging in the future.

 

The lasagne sheets in light, wholemeal and gluten-free varieties and the cannelloni were available in cardboard packaging right from the start. The previous plastic-reduced composite packaging is now being completely replaced by 100% recyclable paper packaging for the other varieties, which can and should be disposed of in the blue garbage can for waste paper.

 

The new packaging for Byodo’s organic pasta is made of paper with the “FSC Mix” certification. It therefore contains materials from FSC-certified forests, recycled material and material from controlled sources (Controlled Wood). This mix of materials promotes responsible forest management by enabling the parallel processing of both certified and non-certified wood*.

 

The organic company’s love of pasta is particularly evident in the selection of the best raw materials and the Byodo promise of enjoyment. Only sun-ripened, 100% organic Italian grain is used for the 19 durum wheat and 4 emmer semolina varieties. It is always freshly ground and processed into pasta in Italy. Traditional bronze dies slightly roughen the surface of the noodles when pressed so that they later combine perfectly with the sauce.

 

Byodo and its pasta – a German-Italian love story since 1992. 20 years ago, Byodo Naturkost GmbH was one of the first manufacturers to launch light-colored organic pasta on the market. At the time, it was absolutely innovative and required a lot of explanation, because until then only the wholemeal version had been known as organic pasta. Grill & Tex Mex” becomes “Mexico Salsa Sauce”

 

Mühldorf, summer 2022: New look, but as delicious as ever! The Grill & Tex Mex Sauce from Byodo Naturkost is changing from the plastic squeeze packaging to the delicatessen glass bottle. The name of the organic barbecue sauce also changes with the packaging – it becomes Mexico Salsa Sauce.

At Byodo Naturkost GmbH, perfect taste comes first alongside 100% organic ingredients. With the new Mexico Salsa Sauce – formerly Grill & Tex Mex Sauce – the recipe with chili, paprika and Mexican spices is already so sophisticated that the innovations are limited exclusively to the packaging.

 

Fans of the vegan organic sauce can now get it in a glass bottle. Byodo has taken the feedback from its customers to heart and implemented a frequent customer request with the new packaging. The new name also expresses more clearly what the taste buds can expect: Fiery, spicy enjoyment and the incomparable Mexican note.

 

The Mexico salsa sauce is the spicy component in tacos, burritos, enchiladas and co., goes perfectly as a cold or slightly warmed dip with nachos or serves as a delicious alternative to classic ketchup when barbecuing or with chips – for all those who like it spicier. The organic delicatessen sauce is not only vegan, but also gluten and yeast-free.
