Byodo nursery catering meets the high “DGE quality standard for catering in daycare facilities for children”
Mühldorf – 15.02.2021: Lunch for the children should not only be healthy and wholesome, but also particularly tasty, when the e-car from the Mühldorf natural food company Byodo delivers the menus for the now 12 daycare centers and kindergartens in the district of Mühldorf. The company has now received certification from the German Nutrition Society (DGE) for its balanced menu for young gourmets in the municipal facilities, which is made up of high-quality organic products from the region and season.
Certification is based on the “DGE Quality Standard for Catering in Daycare Facilities for Children”.
To this end, the entire process chain in the company was scrutinized closely. This includes planning, purchasing, preparation, disposal and cleaning for daycare center catering. Criteria such as staff qualifications and communication about the food on offer are also assessed. In addition, the health-promoting composition of the delicious children’s menus, which always consist of a nutritious main course in combination with a fresh raw vegetable salad or a dessert, is of the utmost importance.
The dedicated and highly qualified Byodo kitchen team passed all the criteria with flying colors, so that the company can now be pleased to have been awarded the DGE-certified status. This elevates the varied and healthy menu for the little ones, especially as the use of products made only from 100% organic raw materials is an absolute specialty. Marcus Hofer, the person responsible for Byodo nursery catering, is delighted to have successfully passed the test: “The certification was a process, but for us as a longstanding natural food professional it was not too big a hurdle. Many of the criteria are a matter of course for us, as Byodo products also have to meet very high quality standards. All we had to do was prove compliance. Nevertheless, we are of course delighted that our efforts are now visible to the outside world with the DGE logo. The town and parents can be sure that their children can enjoy an absolutely high-quality lunch.”
The dishes are prepared using the Cook & Chill method, which optimally preserves nutrients by cooling them down quickly after preparation. The food is then gently reheated in the regeneration ovens in the daycare centers and kindergartens directly before consumption.
