Byodo Naturkost receives IFS initial certification at “Higher Level”

 

Mühldorf – 24.01.2024: Byodo Naturkost GmbH has been audited for the first time according to the strict requirements of the IFS standard and met them with a score of over 95 out of 100 %. The organic company has thus secured the “Higher Level” award and has received independent confirmation that it meets the highest quality standards and product safety criteria.

 

The International Featured Standard (IFS) is regarded as one of the most demanding and therefore strictest quality certificates in the food and beverage industry. During the 2-day audit in November 2023, Byodo Naturkost put all processes and measures that serve quality management and guarantee product safety to the test. This ranges from corporate policy and organizational structure to the individual processes in the specialist departments.

 

The organic company was audited in all areas of the company: Byodo supplies the retail trade with its branded products, serves the catering trade and communal catering businesses with the bulk packs of the Byodo CateringLine and also offers raw materials and private label products. Due to these diverse divisions, the company was certified in accordance with both IFS Broker – for trading activities – and IFS Logistics Standards – for warehouse management from goods receipt to order picking. The certificates thus prove to the existing customer base as well as new regional and international interested parties the high level of customer orientation and product safety.

 

“The value of quality runs through your entire company. If you do something, you do it right,” said IFS auditor Sissy Wokensky. She was also impressed by the excellent and unique team spirit. These words of appreciation were followed by the corresponding certificate with the “Higher Level” award for the special achievement. The IFS Broker requirements were met with over 95%, and Byodo Naturkost even achieved over 97% in the IFS Logistics area.

 

Quality has been a very high priority at Byodo Naturkost since it was founded almost 40 years ago and is also firmly anchored in the culture as a central corporate value. The family business has imposed strict quality guidelines on itself, which go far beyond the legal requirements and are practiced on a daily basis. “In addition to 100% organic ingredients in our products, our concept of quality also includes the strictest analytical parameters and sensory tests. Sustainability and service quality towards all our business partners are also part of this. The annual objective audit of our quality management based on the IFS criteria is an important building block here, and we are very pleased with the positive result,” says Byodo Managing Director Stephanie Moßbacher.
