Doing good together – employees get involved for children in the region

 

Mühldorf – December 2025: The organic family business Byodo Naturkost GmbH is once again foregoing traditional Christmas cards and gifts for business partners this year. Instead, the entire budget earmarked for this will be donated to the WeltKinderLachen foundation – for children and young people in the districts of Altötting and Mühldorf who are in need of support.

“With this gesture, we want to give back something of what drives us every day: Joy and appreciation. The WeltKinderLachen foundation does great work for children here in our home country. We would like to support this,” explains Christina Brenninger, Byodo Naturkost press officer.

 

The WeltKinderLachen Foundation, based in Altötting, has been committed to helping children and young people in difficult life situations since 2006. It helps where state funding is not sufficient – for example by financing therapy, school materials or leisure activities. The aim of the foundation is to give disadvantaged children new prospects and to give them joy, self-confidence and equal opportunities. The charitable foundation is financed exclusively by donations.

 

In addition to the company donation, Byodo employees are also actively involved in the good cause:

Once a year, the Byodo cookie dinner takes place – a much-loved get-together just before Christmas, where the team comes together in a festive atmosphere over punch, mulled wine and home-baked cookies. To bring joy to others during this special time, the employees bring Christmas gifts such as games, cuddly toys and clothes for children from the region. Together, the gifts are lovingly wrapped and handed over to the town of Mühldorf, which then distributes them to children in need. “This year, more presents were collected than ever before – a wonderful sign of the Byodo team’s solidarity and great willingness to help,” Brenninger continues.

 

For Byodo, social commitment is an inseparable part of its own understanding of values. The family-run company has been following this common path in the Munich region for 40 years and in Mühldorf am Inn since 1998. “For us, enjoyment doesn’t just mean good taste, but also a good feeling. With our social commitment, we want to show that real enjoyment always requires togetherness and responsibility,” adds Brenninger.
