Byodo Children's Catering Continues to Grow
12 new facilities and about 2,100 organic lunches served daily
Mühldorf – September 2026: For Byodo, great taste begins long before the first bite—and this is especially true where nutrition is the foundation for healthy development: in children. Since 2017, Byodo Naturkost GmbH has been providing daycare centers, schools, and—more recently—companies with 100% organic lunches. As of September 2026, Byodo’s children’s catering service will expand to include twelve additional facilities, bringing the total number of local clients it serves to 49—a clear indication of the strong demand for reliable, values-based organic meals, especially for the youngest children.
Enjoyment That Builds Trust
For Byodo, enjoyment is a mindful moment that engages all the senses—and it is precisely this understanding that shapes our children’s catering. The fact that the meals are well-received is most evident where it counts: at the table. Institutions can see for themselves in advance by attending a tasting, but time and again, it’s the empty plates and the children’s enthusiasm that speak for themselves. This culinary experience is based on the highest quality: The lunch menu is 100% organic (fish is MSC-certified), child-friendly, tasty, and nutritionally sound. For daycare centers and preschools, there is a menu option featuring a main course along with an appetizer or dessert; starting in elementary school, children can choose from two menu options. The six-week rotating menu is certified according to the nutritional guidelines of the DGE quality standards and transparently lists additives and allergens. Pork and gelatin are never used, and suitable alternatives are provided for children with allergies and vegetarians.
Cooked by 32 people dedicated to the region
With its expansion to 49 facilities—15 daycare centers, 20 kindergartens, 11 schools, and 3 companies—Byodo will prepare approximately 2,100 meals daily in the future, in addition to its in-house gourmet kitchen, which serves about 150 meals daily, as well as catering for events at local businesses, government offices, seminar centers, and private homes. This volume is made possible by a 32-person team of full-time, part-time, and mini-job employees: three in management and administration, six in kitchen management and behind the stove, three apprentices, twelve kitchen assistants, dishwashers and serving staff, and eight drivers who deliver the meals—hot or cold—to facilities within a radius of about 30 kilometers using five electric vans. The meals are portioned in batches onto trays, which are returned pre-cleaned after serving and picked up again along with the cooler at the next delivery—a well-established, resource-efficient cycle.
New Production Kitchen as the Foundation for Further Growth
The foundation for this development was laid as early as September 2024: By constructing a new production kitchen in the Byodo corporate building—with a capacity of up to 2,500 meals per day—the company created the physical and technical conditions necessary for the growth of its children’s catering business. Another important milestone followed in 2025: the introduction of new inventory management and ordering software. Since then, meal ordering, sick leave notifications, and payments have been handled through an in-house, credit-based booking system. This system consolidates all requirements into a single tool—from delivery and ordering to recipes, production, and distribution—and places full control of the ordering portal’s services in the company’s own hands.
