Founder’s daughter Stephanie Moßbacher takes over

Mühldorf – 10.01.2022: After 27 years as Managing Director, Byodo shareholder Andrea Sonnberger is retiring from operational activities. She is thus placing the fate of the organic pioneer entirely in the hands of the founder’s daughter Stephanie Moßbacher.

At the end of 2021, Andrea Sonnberger stepped down from the management team and succeeded Michael Moßbacher as an active shareholder. For her, as for the Byodo founder, this means that although she is no longer active in day-to-day business, she is still involved in strategic, groundbreaking decisions. “Working in partnership with customers, suppliers and employees is at the heart of the Byodo philosophy. As an active shareholder, I would like to continue shaping this common path at Byodo.”

In 1994, Andrea Sonnberger joined the company management and became the second owner of Byodo alongside Michael Moßbacher. This also makes her a “veteran” of the industry and she has played a decisive role in shaping the organic movement. Together with the Byodo founder, she developed the company into a successful brand that is now sold and appreciated worldwide.

The 32-year-old Stephanie Moßbacher is now the sole managing director of the Mühldorf-based family business. The generational change at Byodo has already been underway for several years: Stephanie Moßbacher joined the company 6 years ago, held various positions in marketing and product management in addition to a management traineeship, and was most recently responsible for the management of both areas. In October 2018, she also became a partner in the organic company and has been managing the company together with Andrea Sonnberger since September 2020.

Even though the company faces different challenges today than it did a good 35 years ago, she wants to continue the success story in the spirit of her father and Andrea Sonnberger: “Together with the Byodo team, I want to inspire even more people to live a sustainable and enjoyable lifestyle – and thus make a positive contribution to a more sustainable world.”

To achieve this, it will focus on strengthening the brand, expanding digitalization and establishing a participative and modern management culture.
