It all began on 25th July 1985 in a small garage in Ismaning, near Munich, when three fans of organic food, Michael Moßbacher, Hermann Konrad, and Harry Whitfort, founded Byodo Naturkost GmbH with the goal of producing high-quality organic soy foodstuffs.
In the years that followed, the team’s motivation and creativity knew no bounds. The “organic raw materials trade” and health food distribution divisions were founded and partnerships with established suppliers consolidated. Many of the delicious classic items still so popular today, for example the sweet mustard, pumpkin seed oil, and crispy rice cakes, won over the hearts of gourmet consumers far and wide. The exciting years which followed saw the current managing director and owner, Andrea Sonnberger, join the Byodo team, helping to develop premium organic products for use in gastronomy with the Byodo CateringLine range, and our current headquarters opened in Mühldorf.
We can now look back on 35 years packed full of exciting, funny, creative, informative, cooperative, reflective, successful, and unforgettable moments. Our products, team, and premises have also evolved along with us, and we have won a wide range of awards and prizes! In the future, maintaining this dynamic and developing high-quality organic products in premium quality with new ideas and solutions will remain a matter very close to our heart. For an outstanding taste experience and responsible treatment of humans and nature!
