    Information on production

    For the Byodo Tomato Concentrate sun-kissed, oblong Roma tomatoes are boiled down directly after picking using the cold break method. Since they are processed at a low temperature of max. 75° C (167 °F), the delightful, fruity aroma and the beautiful red colour are preserved. In the next step our tomato paste is double concentrated, whereas 10 % more water is extracted than during single concentration. This means that approx. 600 g of fresh tomatoes are used for 100 g of our tomato concentrate. With single concentration this is only about 360 g. This is where the Byodo Tomato Concentrate gets its particularly intensive, fruity taste for significantly more culinary indulgence!

    CHILLI SIN CARNE

    Take ...

    • 100 g soya granules
    • 2 red chillies
    • 1 onion
    • 3 cloves of garlic
    • 1 carrot
    • 1 leek
    • 1 red pepper
    • 1 large tin of kidney beans
    • 1 small tin of sweetcorn
    • 1 large tin of chopped tomatoes
    • 4 tbsp Byodo Double Fruit Tomato Concentrate
    • 300 ml vegetable stock
    • Byodo Frying Oil Olive Mediterranean
    • Chilli powder
    • Oregano
    • Thyme
    • Byodo Atlantik Sea Salt
    • Pepper
    • Tabasco
    • Marjoram

    Preparation:

    Rehydrate soya granules in warm water (10 minutes). Chop the onion, garlic and chillies finely and fry in a large pot or very deep frying pan in a little oil until the onion begin to turn clear. Chop the carrot, red pepper and leek finely and add them to the pan along with the drained soya granules. Fry for around 5 minutes and then add the tomatoes, sweetcorn, kidney beans, tomato concentrate, herbs and spices (chilli powder, oregano, thyme, marjoram, salt, pepper and Tabasco). Top up with hot vegetable stock and allow to simmer for approximately 35 minutes, stirring continuously. Season to taste and enjoy.
