Orecchiette, semolina

Italian pasta makers pressed the pasta dough over the tips of their fingers to create the traditional shape of the Orecchiette, which means “little ears” in Italian. The organic pasta hats with their golden-yellow hue and unique shape promise an authentic Italian taste experience.

Did you know...?

  • How "al dente" a noodle is predominantely depends on the amount of gluten in the durum wheat. The higher the amount - the better the quality of the noodle.
  • Byodo organic Pasta unites all the things you want from gourmet pasta: beautiful yellow colour, always "al dente" and no change in shape after cooking - and certainly great taste.
  • 10.000 kg of freshly ground durum wheat or durum wholemeal wheat are mixed together with 3.000 l of water. According to size and shape the mixture is then pressed through the designated die plates. The ideal material for the die plates is bronze. Bronze roughens up the enoodle surface and therefore makes sure that the noodles can soak up the sauce after cooking
