    Implementation of the new design/brand appearance in order to increase brand awareness.

2008:

  • Relocated to new Byodo company building. New engery concept works completely without fossil fuels.
  • 10-year anniversary for two Byodo employees


2006:

  • New products: "Fig Mustard" & "Lemon Balsamico" – innovative, unique, successful
  • First Byodo advertisement in "Der Feinschmecker" magazine
  • Recipe development in cooperation with celebrity chef Konrad Geiger

2005:

  • Since 2005 regular participation in the "DLG-Contest".
    From that time on Byodo has been winning several DLG-Gold Medals
  • Dr. Karin Huber takes over the Quality Management department.
    She is additionally trained as an expert for sensory organic products.

  • Participation in BioFach Japan

    • Foundation of the brand Byodo CateringLine
      Byodo is one of the first to develop and market organic products specifically for large-scale consumers – in 100% organic quality.
    • Susanne Groer takes over the management of the CateringLine department

1998:

    • Relocation to Mühldorf am Inn and construction of the first own company building
    • Byodo pasta awarded by "Der Feinschmecker" magazine
    • Byodo goes online – the first homepage
    • Exhibition at the "Grüne Woche" (Green Fair) in Berlin
    • Foundation of the sister company "Ökostern" for the support of private label clients

1995:

  • Intensified promotion and start of the first big advertising campaign in "Schrot und Korn" and "BioHandel" magazine. Furthermore the brand Byodo was presented on green fairs and exhibitions.

1994:

  • Andrea Sonnberger joins Byodo Naturkost GmbH
    Since then Andrea Sonnberger and Michael Moßbacher have directed and guided the company both as owners and managing directors.

1993:

  • Termination of the wholesale trade in order to focus on the development of the Byodo brand

1992:

  • First big bag product:
    Medium Hot Mustard in 5 kg jar/bucket
  • Implementation of the EU ECO-regulations:
    control agency responsible for Byodo: QC&1

1988:

  • First cooperation with permanent manufacturers. Important product groups are launched: rice cakes, mustard, vinegar, oil. The first range of products by the premium brand Byodo: sweet mustard, cider vinegar (filtered), rice cakes with and without salt, pumkin seed oil
  • Start of our association work with Bioland and BNN (Federal Association for Natural and Organic Food)

1987:

  • Start of another business line: "Naturkost-Großhandel-Vertrieb" (Organic food - wholesale & distribution)
    Termination of in-house production as regards Tofu and Tempeh; distribution of organic products under the brand name "Byodo" as well as an expanded product range for wholesalers within Germany.

1986:

  • Start of the business line "Commodity Trade"
    Import and distribution of organic raw materials, such as soya, mung beans, millet, sesame, pumkin and sunflower seeds.

1985:

  • Foundation of Byodo Naturkost GmbH
    Founder: Michael Mossbacher, Hermann Konrad, Harry Whitfort
    Byodo was one of the first companies in Europe to produce fresh tofu and tempeh - even then in 100 % organic quality.
